RECAP: Twenty-one consecutive Tiffin points starting late in the third quarter proved to be key in Northwood football's 31-23 road loss Saturday (September 21).

INSIDE THE GAME

• Northwood pinned Tiffin at their own four-yard line to start the game, but the Dragons responded with an 11 play, 96-yard drive that took 5:56 off the clock. A 21-yard touchdown pass made the score 7-0 Tiffin.
• The Timberwolves responded right away, going 77-yards in nine plays. Quarterback Jacob Barlage found Mark Tocco for a 26-yard touchdown pass to tie the score 7-7.
• The final points of the first half came early in the second quarter, as Tiffin connected on a 37-yard field goal that sent the game to the break with the Dragons leading 10-7.
• Northwood tied the game late in the third quarter. Max Gonos was good on a 41-yard field goal attempt to finish off a 14-play, 57-yard drive to make the score 10-10.
• With the score tied at 10 and less than four minutes remaining in the third, the Dragons went on a run the turning point in the contest. Tiffin scored touchdowns at the 3:14 mark of the third, the 11:24 mark of the fourth and the 5:52 mark of the fourth to turn a tie game into a 31-10 lead for the Dragons.
• Northwood did not go away, getting back on the board on a Barlage 52-yard touchdown pass to Brendan Teal that made the score 31-17.
• After getting the ball back at their own four, Northwood went 96-yards in 1:59 to get within one score thanks to an Ethan Hamby five-yard TD pass to Braylon Gardner.
• Gardner's TD came with just 20 seconds remaining in the game. Northwood did produce an onside kick that was bobbled, but the Dragons were able to fall on the loose ball to close out the game.
