Men's Basketball's Big Comeback Falls Just Short In 83-81 Loss To Lake Superior State

RECAP: Northwood men's basketball make big comeback down the stretch but come up just short in 83-81 loss to Lake Superior State Saturday afternoon (November 15).  

GAME STORY

• Northwood scored 15 seconds into the game for a 2-0 lead, but that proved to be the lone lead of the contest for the Timberwolves.
• Lake Superior State scored eight straight points to go up by six at the 14:53 mark.
• The Lakers continued to build their lead throughout the remainder of the first half, going up by as many as 19 before holding a 50-33 edge at the break.
• Field goal percentage was the story of the half, as LSSU shot 54.3 percent (19-35) while Northwood finished at 32.3 percent (10-31).
• With 11:57 remaining in the game, the Lake Superior State held their biggest lead of the game at 64-41.
• The lead still stood at 75-58 with under six minutes when the Timberwolves made a huge run to give themselves a chance in the final moments.
• Northwood scored 23 points in 5:45 while holding LSSU to eight, cutting the advantage down to 83-81 with 14 seconds remaining in the game.
• After two missed free throw from Lake State, the Timberwolves missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds, giving LSSU the victory.
