Men's Lacrosse Gets 12-8 Win Over Malone In Canton

RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse earned their second win in a row Saturday (March 22), taking down Malone in Canton, 12-8.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Northwood and Malone battled in a tightly contested first quarter. Malone jumped out a 1-0 lead before Drew Lockwood tied it at one and Dylan Ayotte gave Northwood the 2-1 lead at the 9:26 mark.
  • The Timberwolves made it 3-1 with Ayotte's second goal before Malone brought it within one at the buzzer. After one quarter of action, Northwood held the 3-2 lead.
  • Malone tied it at 3-3 at the 10:17 mark of the second quarter.
  • Northwood took command of the second quarter a few moments later. After missing the previous two games, MacKennan Tognetti made his presence felt, scoring the match's next two goals, 5-3 NU.
  • The Timberwolves continued their hot stretch, scoring three more to push their lead to its largest of the first half, 8-3, at the 3:43 mark.

  • Northwood scored two straight to begin the fourth. Ayotte's hat trick goal gave Northwood its largest lead, 12-6, at the 8:11 mark.
  • Malone did not leave quietly, scoring twice, cutting the deficit to four. Northwood's defense settled in to stop the comeback, earning NU the 12-8 win in Canton.
