Men’s Lacrosse Drops 25 On Point Park For Seventh Straight Win

RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse continued its strong start to conference play Friday (March 27), erupting for 25 goals in a commanding 25-10 road win over Point Park.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Timberwolves wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 12 minutes behind goals from Ryder Mulvey, Andrew Rogers (2), and Drew Lockwood. Point Park responded with two late goals in the first, trimming the deficit to 4-2 after one.
  • The Pioneers opened the second quarter with a goal to make it 4-3 and eventually tied the game at 5-5 midway through the period. From there, Northwood flipped the switch, rattling off an 8-1 run over the final eight minutes of the half. Gabe Schmoll sparked the surge with two goals, including a man-down score, while Payton Allaire and MacKennan Tognetti added key tallies. A last-second goal from Tognetti pushed the lead to 13-6 heading into halftime.
  • Northwood carried that momentum into the third quarter, completely taking control of the contest. The Timberwolves held Point Park scoreless in the frame while pouring in seven goals of their own. Tognetti and Rogers continued to orchestrate the offense, while goals from Luke Ueland, Dylan Ayotte, and Schmoll extended the lead to 20-6 after three.
  • Northwood added two quick goals early in the fourth to stretch the margin to 22-6. Point Park found some late offense with four goals, including two man-up scores, but the Timberwolves answered down the stretch. Goals from Rogers and Lucas Mossing in the final two minutes sealed the 25-10 victory.

  • Sophomore attackman Andrew Rogers became the fifth player to reach 100 career points in program history, joining John Cooper, Mike Powers, Justin Ronayne, and Jayme Brams. Rogers now has 109 career points (62 goals and 47 assists).
  • Northwood improves to 5-0 in G-MAC play, remaining unbeaten in conference action. This also continues their best start in program history at 7-2.
  • The Timberwolves' 25 goals match the program record set in 2025 versus Davis & Elkins (April 19, 2025).
  • Their seven wins match the program record for DII wins set in the 1997 season.
