Men's Tennis Earns 4-1 NCAA Tournament Win Over Wayne State

RECAP: Northwood men's tennis earns a 4-1 win over No. 20 Wayne State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Monday afternoon (May 11).
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Northwood, the No. 6 seed in the Midwest Region, and Wayne State, the No. 3 seed in the region, each won a double match by the score of 6-4. That meant the doubles point came down to the No. 3 match, which Northwood took home a 7-6 victory to earn NU a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
- The Warriors earned the first point of singles to level the match, but it was all Northwood from that point on. The Timberwolves earned straight sets wins at the No. 3 and 4 slots to get NU within one of the match at 3-1.
- NU then closed out the match thanks to No. 1 singles player Sergio Lopez Guillen. He earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory to give Northwood a 4-1 overall victory.
