RECAP: Softball finished the spring trip to Florida on Wednesday (March 12). The Timberwolves struggled, dropping two against Winona St, 7-1, and Southwest Minnesota St., 7-0.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first. Unfortunately, this would be the only score Northwood's offense could muster on the day. Ashlyn Lundquist, Delanie, Gale, and Ashley Ziel opened with three straight singles, but Gale would be the only one to score via an RBIU groundout, 1-0 NU.
• The Warriors tied it in the third before taking a 2-1 lead in the fifth.
• Northwood's offense couldn't get the timely hits, leaving seven on base through five.
• Winona St. later pulled away, scoring four in the sixth and another in the seventh to take the 7-1 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

• In the second, SMSU opened the scoring following an RBI single up the middle to score the runner from second, 1-0 SMSU.
• Game two saw more struggles from the Timberwolves. What should have been a 1-2-3 inning, turned into six unearned runs for the Mustangs. Three errors proved costly as the Mustangs' lead ballooned to 7-0.
• Northwood's bats went quiet, managing just two hits in the game. The Timberwolves later fell, 7-0.
