Savannah Matuszewski Named G-MAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

G-MAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MIDLAND, MICH. – Savannah Matuszewski, a senior from the Northwood University women's tennis team, has been announced as the Great Midwest Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The league made the announcement Monday (February 2).

Matuszewski went 2-0 to open the 2026 season, leading Northwood to a 4-3 win over Michigan Tech. She won 7-6 at No. 1 doubles with partner Giada Ciampa. Matuszewski went on to earn a three-set victory at the No. 1 position, giving the Timberwolves the overall victory.

It is the first time in her career that Matuszewski has taken home the award.

Northwood will host Goshen Friday (February 6). Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.
