Volleyball Opens G-MAC Play With 3-1 Win At Cedarville

INSIDE THE MATCH

• The opening set was close the majority of the time. Northwood appeared to be in control late, going up 19-15. Cedarville chipped away at the lead, but the Timberwolves still held a 23-21 lead when the Yellow Jackets went on a run. Cedarville scored three straight points to earn a set point at 24-23. NU fought off two set points before CU earned the set 27-25 for the 1-0 match advantage.
• Set two was tied 4-4 when Northwood made a run. The Timberwolves scored five of the next six points to take a 9-5 lead. NU led the rest of the way, not allowing Cedarville to get any closer than three the rest of the way. Northwood eventually won the set 25-19 to level the match 1-1.
• The key part of set three came with the score tied 3-3. NU scored eight of the next nine points to take an 11-4 lead. Cedarville did not get any closer than six the rest of the way. NU took the set 25-17.
• The Yellow Jackets were the better team at the start of the fourth set, taking an 11-6 lead. Cedarville's lead stood at 14-10 when the Timberwolves went on a run. Northwood scored nine of the next 10 and 13 of the next 15 points to take a 23-16 lead. NU eventually closed out the match with a 25-20 win.
