Volleyball Falls In Four Sets To No. 5 Ferris State

INSIDE THE MATCH
- The opening set was tied 7-7 when Ferris State scored four straight points to go up 11-7. That run eventually reached 10-3 to give FSU a 17-10 advantage. NU got no closer than five the rest of the set, which was won by the Bulldogs 25-19.
- With Ferris State leading set two 9-8, the Bulldogs took control. FSU put up 14 of the next 18 points to make the score 23-13. The Bulldogs took the set 25-14 for a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Northwood played their best set of the match in the third, getting off to a 4-1 lead at the start. Ferris State came back to tie the score at 5-5, only to see the Timberwolves take the lead for good on the next point. NU led 14-13 when Northwood scored seven of the next eight points to take a 21-14 lead. The Timberwolves eventually took the set 25-19 to make the match score 2-1.
- NU appeared to be on their way to forcing a fifth set after taking a 16-9 lead. But the Bulldogs went on a big run, putting up nine of the next 10 points to take an 18-17 lead. With the score tied 19-19, FSU scored six of the final seven points to the set 25-20 and the match 3-1.
