Volleyball Claims 3-1 Road Win At Tiffin - Sydney Hasenfrantz Reaches 1,000 Kill Milestone

INSIDE THE MATCH                                                                                        

  • In a match full of runs for both teams, it was Northwood who started with a 6-3 advantage. Tiffin responded with six of the next seven points to go up 9-7. With the score tied 9-9, the Dragons put up four straight points to take a 13-9 lead. NU came back to get within one at 14-13. That was as close as the Timberwolves would get, however, as the Dragons went on to take the opening set 25-20 for a 1-0 lead.
  • Northwood led set two 5-4 when the Timberwolves went on a 7-1 run to take a 12-5 lead. The Dragons responded with five straight points to cut the NU advantage to 12-10. Northwood then scored three straight to get the lead back up to five at 15-10. TU got back within one at 17-16 but were never able to level the set. The Timberwolves eventually took the set 25-22 to level the match at 1-1.
  • NU kept the momentum going from the second-set win, scoring the first five points and seven of the first nine overall. Northwood led 13-10 when the Dragons scored four straight points to take a 14-13 lead. The score was tied 14-14 before a 5-1 run by Northwood put the Timberwolves up 19-15. Tiffin got no closer than three the rest of the third set, which was finished off by a 6-2 push by Northwood. NU's 25-18 win gave Northwood a 2-1 edge for the match.
  • Set three was tied seven when Northwood went on the first big run of the set, scoring five straight points to open up a 12-7 lead. Tiffin chipped away at the Northwood advantage, getting within two at 14-12. Northwood pushed the lead back to five at 18-13, but the Dragons did not go away. Tiffin got within one at 23-22 and 24-23 before the Timberwolves closed out the set 25-23 and the match 3-1.
