Volleyball Earns 3-0 Sweep Over Ashland - Renee Brines Reaches 3,000 Assist Milestone

INSIDE THE MATCH                                                                                        

• The opening set was tightly contested, with the first three-point lead coming with Northwood on top 17-14. Ashland came back to earn three one-point advantages late, the last of which came at 23-22. Northwood finished the set strong, scoring the final three points of the set. Northwood used a pair of blocks to close out the first 25-23.
• Set two was very similar to the opener – the first three-point lead for either team came with the Timberwolves on top 15-12. NU pushed their advantage to as many as four before the Eagles fought back to get within one at 21-20 and 22-21. Much like the first, Northwood finished the set strong, putting up three of the final four points while closing out the second with a block. The 25-22 set win gave Northwood a 2-0 lead in the match.
• The final set was much different, as Northwood stormed out to a 6-0 lead to start. NU went on to score nine of the first 10 points and maintained control from there. The Eagles got no closer than five the rest the way. The Timberwolves closed out the sweep with a 25-17 third-set win.
