Volleyball Seventh Straight Win - Finished Regular Season With 3-1 Road Win Over Walsh

RECAP: Northwood volleyball earns seventh straight win to finish the regular season, earning a 3-1 road win over Walsh Saturday (November 16).
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Northwood held a 4-3 lead early in the opening set when Walsh went on a big run, scoring eight straight points to go up 11-4. The Cavaliers maintained control the rest of the way, not allowing Northwood to get any closer than five. With the Cavs leading 16-9, Walsh scored seven of the next nine points to put the set away. WU eventually took the opener 25-12 for a 1-0 lead.
- Walsh kept the momentum going early in the second, scoring five of the first six points. Northwood made its first big run of the day trailing 6-2, as the Timberwolves put up seven of the next eight points to take a 9-7 lead. Northwood's run eventually reached 17-5, making the score 19-11. Walsh chipped away at the lead but got no closer than three the rest of the set, which was won by Northwood 25-20 to level the match 1-1.
- Set three was tight throughout. While Northwood led from the 13-12 mark on, the first four-point lead of the set came when Northwood went on top 19-15. Walsh cut the Timberwolves edge to 21-20, only to see NU put up the final four points of the set to win 25-20 for a 2-1 lead.
- The Timberwolves used a 5-1 run early in the fourth to go up for good at 10-6. The lead stayed between three and seven the rest of the way. NU was on top 22-15 when the Cavs scored four straight to make the score 22-19. After a timeout, Northwood scored the final three points of the match to take the third 25-19 and the match 3-1.
