INSIDE THE MATCH

• Northwood started a run leading Kentucky Wesleyan 4-3 in the opening set. The Timberwolves put up nine of the next 11 points to go up 13-5. NU kept the momentum going, posting a 9-1 run to finish the set to win 25-10 for a 1-0 lead.
• Set two was tied 5-5 when the Timberwolves posted a 9-1 run to take a 14-6 lead. Northwood maintained control the rest of the set, not allowing KWC to get any closer than six points. The Timberwolves went on to take the second 25-13 for a 2-0 overall lead.
• After two easy set victories for Northwood, the third set proved to be tightly contested. NU scored four straight points to open up a 17-13 lead, only to see the Panthers respond with a 5-1 run to level the score at 18-18. Kentucky Wesleyan had the first set point in the third at 24-23 when Northwood made the final push of the match, scoring four of the final five points to win 27-25 and complete the sweep.
