Northwood Cross Country Races G-MAC Championships On Home Course
OVERVIEW – G-MAC Championships
LOCATION: Fisher Family Trails – Midland, Mich.
RECAP: Northwood University hosted the G-MAC Championships for the first time at Fisher Family Trails Saturday (October 25), welcoming a highly competitive field featuring multiple regionally and nationally ranked programs. The Timberwolves finished ninth overall, led by Kaylee Aultman with a 52nd-place performance on the women's side. On the men's side, they placed eighth overall in a deep Great Midwest field featuring three nationally ranked programs Saturday (October 25). Junior Matt Grindrod delivered a strong championship scoring performance, placing 14th overall to earn Second Team All-G-MAC honors.
INSIDE THE WOMEN's RACE (6,000 METERS)
- The No. 9 team in the country, Cedarville, dominated the meet, winning the team title with 27 points. Walsh finished second with 67 points, while Findlay took third with 76 points, rounding out the podium.
- Northwood's women finished ninth overall in the conference race with 263 points.
- The Timberwolves were led by junior Kaylee Aultman, who placed 52nd in 23:36.3. Senior Riley Hacker followed in 62nd at 24:00.5. Megan Gottschall contributed with a 79th-place finish in 24:41.6, and Brianna Locke finished 101st in 26:14.3. Freshman Danica Aldrich rounded out the scoring five in 83rd at 24:59.0.
- Northwood's top five combined for a total time of 2:03:32, averaging 24:43 per runner with a 1:23 spread.

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)
- Walsh captured the team title with 57 points — their sixth team title since 2017. Ashland finished second with 72 points, followed closely by Tiffin in third with 73 points, making for a tight race at the top.
- Northwood scored 204 points to place eighth overall. Grindrod led the Timberwolves in 24:50.4, taking 14th overall. Junior William Haw continued his strong season with a 44th-place finish, while Elliot Carey (49th) and Nolan Nixon (56th) held key positions in the scoring group.
- Freshman Reece Davis closed out the scoring five in 26:02.8, securing Northwood's top-eight finish.
- As a unit, the Timberwolves' top five combined for a 2:07.55 total and a 25:35 average, with a 1:13 spread from first to fifth.
