Baseball Finishes Season With 7-2 Win Over Lake Erie

The Northwood University baseball team ended its 2013 season with a 7-2 win over Lake Erie Sunday afternoon (May 5).

The Timberwolves finished the season 17-26 overall, 12-19 in the GLIAC.  Lake Erie stands at 17-28 overall, 14-18 in the GLIAC.

Northwood scored runs in four of the first five innings of the game, plating two in the first, one in the third, four in the fourth and one more in the fifth to go up 6-0.  Lake Erie scored two in the fifth, but that is all the Storm would get in the contest.  The Timberwolves rounded out the scoring in the seventh with a single run.

The Timberwolves finished the contest with 10 hits, including a pair of doubles.  Eric Altman () led the way with a 4-5 day at the plate.  Andrew Fleming (Olivet, Mich./Kellogg CC) added three hits and two RBI's, while Jake Oard (Beaverton, Mich.) added three hits and two runs scored.

Jordan Snider (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) ended his career with a win in his final start.  He allowed two runs on four hits in five innings of work.  Andrew Joseph (Sylvania, Ohio/Owens CC) picked up a four-inning save, striking out four on three hits.  It was Joseph's first save as a Timberwolf.
