The Northwood University men's and women's tennis teams will both host the opening rounds of the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Both teams earned the GLIAC Championship and the GLIAC Tournament Championship this season.
Each team has earned the No. 2 seed for the event and thus an opening round bye.
On the men's side, Northwood will await the winner of the match between No. 3 seed Drury (16-3) and No. 4 seed Ohio Dominican (13-9). The DU/ODU contest will take place Sunday morning (April 28) at 11:45 a.m. , with the winner to take on Northwood Monday (April 29) at 11:30 a.m..
The lone match that will take place on the women's side will be played Tuesday (April 30). Second-seeded Northwood (20-1) will face the third seed, Grand Valley State (24-6). That contest is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
All matches are scheduled to take place at the Gerstacker Courts on the campus of Northwood University. However, in the case of poor/cold weather, the matches will be played indoors at the Midland Community Tennis Center.
Each of the eight regions in Division II tennis will send two representatives to the nationals, which will take place May 8-10 in Surprise, Arizona.
