Jenna Anastos Named Women's Basketball Assistant Coach

The Northwood Unviersity women's basketball team has announced the hiring of former Timberwolf Jenna Anastos as an assistant coach.

She replaces Pam Wilson, who resigned earlier this summer.

"We are thrilled to have Jenna join our staff," said Northwood head coach Jeff Curtis.  "She brings a passion for basketball and coaching to our program. I know she will do a great job."

Anastos was on the Northwood roster from 2008-2012.  Injuries plagued her career, allowing her to only play in five games.  She did set the Northwood school record for most 3-point field goals made in a game without missing, going 5-5 while netting a career-high 17 points versus Northern Michigan during 2009-10 season.

Despite the injuries she endured, Anastos' attitude and outlook towards Northwood basketball did not go unnoticed.  At the end of her career, Coach Curtis created the "Anastos Attitude" award.  It is given annually to one player on the team who displays the best spirit and teamwork.

Coaching runs in the family for Anastos, as her father Tom is the head coach of the Michigan State Hockey team.

Northwood will open its 2013-14 season November 9 versus St. Joseph's.
